After. Movie VS Book

From the start, I know this is a controversial subject, so that’s why it makes it a good subject of discussion. Most people think that you should read the book first and then watch the movie. Maybe, they are right or maybe not, but, in this case, I discovered that “After” is a book series only after I’ve watched the film. And I can assure you, that I don’t think I have made the wrong choice. Now I am reading the fourth book and I’m also really curious how the films will turn out too.

Today I’ll talk only about the comparison between the first movie and the first book. I have to be honest to you and say the fact that in the film differences occur. For example, some characters in the book are presented to be men and in the film are presented as women and vice versa, like Steph’s partner (Tessa’s roommate), in the book Tristan is a man and in the film is a woman. Another example can be Professor Soto, who in the book is a man and in the movie is a woman.

I know that the people who have already read the book are probably disappointed with the film, but I think they are too critical. I’ve watched it, more than once and I enjoyed all the scenes and the actors are stunning. You have to understand that they had to cut off some parts of the story so that the film could be successful and you have to take into consideration that Anna Todd, the writer, accepted these things to change.

Now, to bring it on a brighter side, we should appreciate all the work between them both, the book as well as the film. Also, I was fascinated by the way the author associated the love story between Hardin and Tessa with the love story between Darcy and Elisabeth, from Jane Austen's masterpiece: "Pride and Prejudice". As well you will find some mentions from Emily Bronte’s book “Wuthering Heights”.

In conclusion, I recommend you to watch the movie and read the book because I am sure you won’t be able to let it down until you read it completely and it will change your perspective of life.
