The Resident: an underrated show

Medical shows, there are plenty in the cinematic Universe. From Grey’s Anatomy to New Amsterdam and The Good Doctor, each and every one of the shows grew quite a large audience and fandom.

The Resident is a medical show created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Sehore, and Roshan Sethi, and sits with Fox Broadcasting Company. The first episode aired in 2018 and has 4 seasons up until now. The cast holds names such as Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, Shaunette Wilson, Malcolm Warner, Jane Leeves, and Morris Chestnut.

Besides the daily challenges the characters have to face as workers in the medical field, the story follows love stories and the start of their families. We are walked through a full ER, difficult surgeries, death, weddings, and births.

We see a team of doctors and nurses who would do anything and everything for their patients and for each other. We follow the love between Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) and Nurse Nicolette ‘Nic’ Nevin (Emily VanCamp) grow more and more with every episode. We see Dr. Mina Okafor (Shaunette Wilson) and Dr. AJ Austin (Malcolm Warner) perform some flawless surgeries: Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) and Dr.

Kitt Voss (Jane Leeves) trying to change the medical system; an evolving friendship between Dr. Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal) and Conrad and so much more.

This team of amazing doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Hospital in Atlanta makes you fall in love with them, their story, and their mission: to help as many people as possible. And once you fall in love, there’s no way back.
